Lindsey Sigvaldason is a dedicated and experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse in rural Manitoba with twelve years of experience in acute psychiatric inpatient services in Manitoba. Throughout her career she has demonstrated a deep commitment to providing compassionate care and support to individuals living with acute psychiatric illness. With a focus on person-centered care she excels in assessing needs, developing individualized interventions that promote healing and recovery. In addition to her clinical experience she has spent years as a dedicated educator, both teaching professional and paraprofessional staff within the acute psychiatric setting and developing complex psychiatric content. She brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insights to teaching roles, empowering others to deliver high-quality care and interventions to individuals in need.
Furthermore, Lindsey has extensive experience in crisis services, where she has provided immediate support to individuals in distress. Her adeptness in de-escalating difficult situations and providing timely intervention has been instrumental in mitigating crises and ensuring the safety and well-being of those under her care. Lindsey is driven by a passion for mental health advocacy. Since obtaining a Bachelors of Science in Psychiatric Nursing twelve years ago, Lindsey has developed her practice and the practice of others by certifying with the Crisis Prevention Institute and teaching Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Skills Training to all specialties in the Mental Health sector. With this specialty she provided and reinforced Defusing and Debriefing protocols and interventions for the professional community.
Alongside years of supporting verbal de-escalation strategies she also became a certified facilitator with LivingWorks for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. This certification allowed for the growth of many communities suicide intervention skills, promoting safety amongst the many Manitobans experiencing thoughts and actions relating to suicidal ideation. With a steadfast commitment to excellence and a compassionate approach to care, Lindsey hopes to bring these skills to her clients. With a drive to expand access to services, provide complete care and fill gaps in the Mental Health system, Lindsey has created Static Interventions to meet the needs of all Manitobans. All services are provided by a credentialed Registered Psychiatric Nurse and are fee for services based, with the potential for insurance coverage as available.
